Donation Drive for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer® Walk
University of Phoenix Employees Donate their household items to raise money for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona
In July 2007, University of Phoenix teamed up with the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona
to host a Valley wide clothing drive for the organization. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona, a
501(c)(3) non-profit organization, have been providing youths across the valley a positive mentor for over
100 years. To help make their mentoring program possible, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona
collects donated household items such as clothes, small appliances, etc. The donations are sold to Savers
and the proceeds go directly to fund their mentoring program.
In just five days and 10 hours total, University of Phoenix employees, faculty members and students cleaned out their closets and donated over four tons of clothing to the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona!

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer® Walk
This month employees from the University of Phoenix Charlotte Campus hit
the pavement for a good cause. More then 60 employees from the campus took
part in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer® Walk held by the American
Cancer Society®. The campus decided to take on the challenge only three
weeks before the date of the walk. Despite the time crunch the Charlotte
Campus still managed to exceed their goal by more then $600.
